We operate throughout the Saarland region around the clock, responding whenever domestic or wild animals are injured, helpless, abandoned, or in immediate danger. Our work begins where rapid decision-making and professional action determine the difference between life and suffering.
We see ourselves as an operational rescue service with clear structures and defined procedures. Our responsibilities include securing animals from dangerous situations, providing initial care on site, documenting rescue and incident locations, and ensuring professional transport to veterinarians, veterinary clinics, foster homes, and animal shelters. In close cooperation with veterinary authorities, regulatory agencies, veterinarians, and animal welfare organizations, we ensure that every animal receives the help it needs.

Emergency responses are carried out by our volunteers on an entirely unpaid basis. There are no costs for those who report or find animals in distress. Likewise, when domestic animals are recovered and their owners can be identified, we do not charge any fees for securing the animal or providing initial care. This assistance is a fundamental part of our mission — because an animal in need must never be treated as a cost factor.

Tiernotruf Saarland e.V. does not receive any permanent public base funding. Our operational readiness is maintained through cost-covering deployment and transport services, voluntary contributions, donations in kind, and project-based sponsorship. All income is used exclusively for ongoing operational activities — including vehicles, fuel, medical supplies, safety equipment, rescue technology, and maintaining our 24/7 readiness.
Our mission is clear: no animal in Saarland should be left without help simply because a situation is inconvenient, time-critical, or organizationally challenging. Our work is more than a task — it is our calling.
We act independently, responsibly, and with respect for every life.
Because every animal deserves help.
